Math Updates
Hello!
We've been working very hard in math to build our fluency (how quickly and smoothly) we can state our math facts. In 2nd grade, students are responsible for knowing fluently their math facts in addition and subtraction numbers 1-20. This includes all of their number partners or addends. An example of this would be 10: 9+1, 8+2, 7+3, 6+4, 5+5 (doubles), and then of course the subtraction facts 10-9=1,10-8=2, etc. Students must be able to rearrange the addends and the sums(totals) to form different addition and subtraction equations. I'll post a picture of our accomplishments this weekend after we build our partner houses!
Check out the math resource section (Spanish side only for now) for some extra math practice quizzes and games!
